Wonderous Whirl

The energy lacing my every thought
Runs down in color to my cheeks
Tomato red from the joyful exertion
Felt more deeply than I have in weeks

Your feet glide to the rhythm
I fervently read the poem they spell
My movements mirroring its shape and cadence
In whispers, velvet tones, giddy shouts as well

Wrists now know they are highly valued
Bones sense their worth celebrated
Holding my body aloft and in flow
In this painting through time they’ve created

The confidence imbued by the present moment
Does not end in the parts separated
Certainty that I’m where I should be
Has saturated my being - entirely sated
